This subforum is for independant pilots who don't want to commit to a group, but like group play. Good news! You can play with the Mercs without being part of us.

Any independant pilot in the Mikunn'iverse sphere of influence looking for group play may request for Mercs to come and play with them. Just post when you will be on, and what you plan on doing (sell it a bit and you are more likely to get a response).

Who sees this and might respond:
    All the Mercs
    Loosely affiliated Associates
    Other allies

The purpose of this forum is to act as a hub for those players involved with the Mikunniverse to find activity and group play.

    Hi.

I am developing a project for the Munshin Sphere in Aisling Space.

It proposes to test the effectiveness of a trading strategy that targets the High Demand requirements of each of Munshin's Exploited Systems' Markets and BB's to enhance the prospects for increased NPC trade, population and production capacity.

The project relies on a variation of a strategy I have successfully implemented on prior occasions to shift Factions and induce Conflict states.

Some help sure would be hot, I'm in and around the 'verse a fair bit and I'm easy to catch over a wide range of times.

    Hi Lucifer

    FYI.

The Munshin Sphere plan has been handed over to the Representatives of the Pileus Libertas Faction in residence at Munshin.
A similar Mission Plan has been formulated for the adjacent LTT 1289 Sphere, that plan has been posted to the Aisling's Angels Enjin in an attempt to generate and harness local interest.
    .

    .
    BGS Mission LTT 1289
    .
    Mission Objective:
To establish an NPC Factional Government in LTT 1289 that is the most supportive of the Lady's interests.
    .
    Mission Strategy:
Trading out High Supply Commodities in to High Demand Markets in order to increase the rate of Economic growth; that growth will, in turn, accelerate the frequency of Conflicts in the Radius.
    .
The increased frequency of Conflicts will allow the necessary Political changes to be more readily effected through the management of those Conflicts.
Radius Income will also increase from the targeted economic activity.
    .
    .
The Mission needs the collaboration and participation of interested CMDRs.
Please contact CMDRnooc in game or thru reddit, the Baseline Data Set is available and full details of the Mission Plan can be discussed.
    .
    Good Hunting

Out of curiosity what leads you to believe that "Trading out High Supply Commodities in to High Demand Markets in order to increase the rate of Economic growth; that growth will, in turn, accelerate the frequency of Conflicts in the Radius."?

I observed that Conflicts are inevitable, each Faction is programmed to seek Domination.
If damaged by a CMDR a Faction will be attacked by another Faction.
If supported by a CMDR a Faction will attack another in its new found strength.
    .
I noticed, too regularly for coincidence, that after a round or two of BB small trade and smuggling Missions, an assassination or two, essentially just an exercise to familiarise myself with the local conditions, and 24 – 48 - 72 hours later a nice hot war would appear, most generally several Conflicts would erupt following the trail of my Missions.
    .
I have successfully supported all Factions in a System, becoming Allied with each in the process, and then, when the 'right' Conflict is generated, I have targeted my support on the 'good guy' and 'King Hit' the bad to good effect.
    .
The desired objective of the Mission is to achieve both an economic and a political benefit, so a trading strategy, backed up by a patient Conflict management process, appears as the natural route to achieving the dual objective most efficiently.

Im afraid that was just coincidence.Wars are created when the influence of two factions equal each other, or when a faction that does not own the system gets an influence value of 70% or greater.

    Coincidence, wow!
I have observed the effect of Targeted Trading and Mission completion and abandonment, a fortnight ago in Munshin, this past week in LTT 1289, over an extensive period of time in Bellaung.
    .
I expect that Trade and BB Missions have an effect on Factional influence, are you saying that they do not?

Trade has a slight effect on influence, but only has an effect on wars in that it can cause influence to equalize or reach a greater value than 70%. Missions are the most effective in changing influence values, which can create wars. Its not that you did a certain number of missions, but rather what the influence values are.

    OK, I think I see.
The Post (#4) is incomplete and does not mention the BB activity, though the previous (#2) does and indicates the Strategy takes note of both the Market and BB prompts for commodities and services.
    .
    Thanks for clarifying that:-
Trade and Missions, completed and abandoned, impact on Factional influence.
    Levelling Factional influences precipitates Conflicts.
The decisive battle is initiated at 70%.
    .
I expect that the Trading Strategy will increase economic activity, Income thereby.
Should I look for a Faction levelling effect from the HS/HD trades?
    .
The BB Missions have been most effective (better offers, more offers) when I have been Allied to all Factions, hence the blanket coverage to begin.
I expect that opportunities to elevate the preferred Faction will present when the BB Missions become targeted towards a levelling effect.
When the Conflict erupts the focus would then become completed Missions for the preferred, abandoned Missions for the undesirable, with a good deal of pew pew in the CZ.
    .
What alternatives do we have available for achieving the dual objective?

    FYI
    .
The Strategy requires a CMDR respond to each of the BGS's Market and Bulletin Board prompts.
    .
I have had success with varied elements of the strategy, creating booms, forcing expansions, unrest and conflict; then using those conflicts to further local political advantage; but have not previously been checking for population or economic increases, that was not the focus of the previous experiments.
    .
Having read something of the Mercs' work, I expect that observable population and economic results will only be possible after a sustained input.
And, having no way to ensure continued input, I sought the Libertas Co-Operative's help as I readied to move on to the next CS on my list.
    .
Pileus Libertas have agreed to participate in this Project.
PL CMDRs will respond to the Strategy's Market Demands and BB Offers as a regular activity.
    .
    .
The Stategy's objective is to 'catch more flies with honey than vinegar'.
Its baseline data is the Power Contacts System Data page in Station, beginning with a description that follows the information there.
    .
    Eg, from the Munshin Sphere.

Epsilon Hydri @ 6 cc, Epsilon Hydri Commodities, Empire, 75,000, Corporate, Ind/Ext, Poor, Tiny.
    .
A survey has been taken of the commodities in High Demand at the local Markets.
Radian V - Synthetic Meat, Polymers, Perfs, Progs, Auto Fabs, Robotics, Synth Fabs
Torrens ITP – add HE Suits, Biored.
    .
Two routes (one for Outpost Access, the other for Heavies) connect each System in the Radius, and many Stations, in a loop to supply those individual HD requirements Sphere-wide with the local High Supply commodities.
It is expected that specific benefits will be encouraged by specific trades.
    .
In the case of Epsilon Hydri -
Industrial Production increases achieved through commodities such as Robotics, Auto Fabs, Polymers, Synth Fabs
Extraction Rate increases from the Biored and HE Suits
Population increases from the free availability of Luxuries and Food, both the mundane and exotic, supported by a groomed economy and political stability.
    .
A CS Income increase is expected to eventually result.
    .
The BB Missions are actioned in order to guide the NPC Factions towards PL's current local goal; whether that be Economic expansion through safe trade routes, research from trade data, ancient artifacts, chemicals, etc or Military expansion through military plans, assassinations, authority hits, et al.
    .
A local HT or Ref economy will become the CS's short haul money spinner (CD-72 190 or Arngin) and the subject(s) of focussed attention.
    .
    .
The Trading Strategy is very effective at producing Conflicts that may be turned to advantage.
    .
Cailli is currently in a 4 way conflict that will establish a Cooperative Government there, courtesy of CMDR Rihi.
Munshin is in a 4 way conflict from which the Libertas Player Faction will rest possession of at least one Station and perhaps several Planets from the current holder, Allied.
LTT 1289, likewise, is in a 4 way conflict that will secure the System under a consolidated and unassailable rule.
    .
LTT 1289 received a measured 20 hours input and has taken less than a week for the kettle to boil.

    Good luck!

4 way conflict combat zones are always fun.

LOL, yeah, just need to remember which CZ has which Factions slugging it out.
